Stockmann and its customers supporting low-income families with children in Finland

Stockmann continues its long-standing cooperation with Save the Children by implementing the Christmas Give a Gift for the Future charity campaign for children and young people in Finland. The campaign is organised in Stockmann department stores and the stockmann.com online store in November and December.  By participating in the campaign, Stockmann customers can support low-income families and children at risk of social exclusion and loneliness in Finland.

Right now, the number of children living in poverty is growing at a record pace. Around 120,000 children in Finland live in low-income families, and the number is expected to increase by nearly 30,000. At the same time, the hardship faced by these families is deepening. Many children report that they are lacking even necessities like food.

With the funds raised during the Christmas campaign, Save the Children will give out food vouchers and recreational support. In addition, the organisation provides children from families in difficult circumstances with support persons, godparents and online chat support, for example.

"We are delighted to once again support the Christmas charity campaign in collaboration with Save the Children Finland. The organisation does valuable work to promote the wellbeing of children and young people, and we want to do our part to help make this important work possible. We encourage everyone to take part in the campaign either at Stockmann department stores or online – every donation makes a difference," says Stockmann’s Sustainability & Human Rights Manager Anna-Kaisa Koskinen.

Save the Children’s charity campaign is running from 1 November to 31 December 2025. Stockmann customers can buy €10, €20 and €50 gift cards available at the checkouts in the department stores and on the stockmann.com online store.

“We are delighted to continue our long-standing cooperation with Stockmann. Poverty will continue to affect more and more children in Finland and the need for support is even greater now. We would like to thank Stockmann and its customers for their support," says Johanna Mäkelä, Head of Corporate Partnerships at Save the Children Finland.
