Stockmann joins the UN Orange Days campaign
Stockmann participates in the UN Orange Days campaign to end violence against women. We have illuminated the Aleksanterinkatu entrance and the glass brick wall on Keskuskatu of our Helsinki flagship department store in orange on Tuesday, 25 November 2025.
The Orange Days campaign begins on 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and ends on Human Rights Day, 10 December. The campaign aims to raise awareness of violence against women and encourage people to act against it. Orange symbolizes hope for a future free of violence.
“As an organization with a largely female workforce, Stockmann considers it essential to actively promote the prevention of violence against women. This is a highly relevant and important issue, and we are proud to support this campaign. We believe that a safe life, free from harassment, is a fundamental right for everyone,” says Maria Hekkala, People & Culture Director for Stockmann division.
UN Women Finland and the City of Helsinki are organizing a candlelight procession in Esplanade Park on Tuesday 25 November as part of the global UN Orange Days campaign, which highlights efforts to prevent violence against women. The campaign’s signature colour, orange, symbolizes hope for a future without violence, and during the campaign, famous landmarks around the world are illuminated in orange. In addition, the City of Helsinki will light up the Havis Amanda statue in orange.
The patron of the 2025 Orange Days campaign is Suzanne Innes-Stubb, spouse of the President of the Republic of Finland.
